  • The Digicel Haiti Foundation has celebrated its first year anniversary with the accomplishment of building 20 schools within a year, two in each department of Haiti. This has provided thousands of Haitian children with an education that will help them in the future.

  • There followed testimony of the principle of the school Ecole Nationale de Grand-Bassin, Mr. Wilson Pierre, located in Ouanaminthe, North East of Haiti, and many others at the inauguration of Ecole Saint Patrick in Cite Soleil.  For them, when Digicel Haiti Foundation had selected their schools it was a dream come true. Not only on how fast the construction of the buildings was completed but also on how exciting the schools have become.   As some of them won’t be able to manage it all on their own, they requested the help of the government. All of them appreciated the major contribution of the Digicel Haiti Foundation, the only one begin fulfilling the needs of the children of Haiti.

  • The first senator of the Haitian Republic announced, in the presence of other members of the government, that the other companies in Haiti should follow the actions of the Digicel Haiti Foundation in helping and developing the Haitian communities.

  • Comments by Josefa Gauthier, CEO of the Digicel Haiti Foundation.  She explained how difficult the construction of the schools was, all located in isolated and deprived areas, and how satisfied and proud she is that they have achieved the goal.

  • Denis O’Brien, patron of the Digicel Haiti Foundation and Chairman of Digicel Group stated that Digicel Haiti Foundation is determined to make a difference in the live of Haitian people and is ready to continue working in partnership with other organizations in order to help the Haitian communities.
