School vision : The school’s aim is to reach excellence. School mission: The school mission is to allow all children to be educated School history: CEGAB was founded in September 2000. During its first three years, the school was situated at a mission MEBSH. However after 3 years they had to leave the mission and set up the school in the local cultural center. On July 7th, 2007 DIGICEL took the accepted the application to build a school for that community. On September 13th the school was inaugurated and named CEGAB. About the School: CEGAB is a community school that is certified with authorization from the Ministry of Education. There are 224 students in the school, 106 boys and 118 girls. There are 23 teachers in total at the school. The school provides 11 grades of education including preschool, primary and secondary classes. The subjects taught at the school are Math’s, French, Creole, Social and Experimental Science. The direction council is composed of 3 people. The school director, a teacher and a parent. They take care of the school’s property and control the school’s administration. The parents committee is made up of 6 people who meet regularly to assist the management team. School partners: In 2007 DIGICEL foundation has reconstructed and completely furnished the school. The foundation supports also the formation and payments of the teachers. The school is part of a food program. This program is supported by Catholic Relief Service, who feeds the teachers and the students on a daily basis throughout the school year.
